This is why I want to use songs as a large inspiration for whatever I write. The one thing to watch out for is tone. While music has the advantage of an upbeat tune or minor melody to help convey the emotion behind it, in a poem every word must be chosen with tone in mind so it conveys precisely the subtleties intended.
